About
Hi, I’m Hope—and honestly, thrifting is kind of in my blood.
Long before Secondhand Hope existed, there was Once Upon a Time, a thrift store my grandparents, Frank and Donna, owned back in the 80s. They were the blueprint for my lifelong obsession with treasure hunting.
I really grew up doing this. Weekends spent antiquing with my parents. Waking up a 4am to road trip to swap meets with all of my cousins packed in the van. Getting my friends into the goodwill bins to thrift our way into being famous on Tumblr. Spending months tracking down a pair of shoes on Depop. 1am bidding wars on Ebay.
Some families pass down recipes. Mine apparently passed down the urge to pull over whenever we see a thrift store (or just a pile of free stuff on the side of the road, tbh).
So in a lot of ways, Secondhand Hope feels less like something I randomly decided to start and more like something I eventually found my way to. If my grandparents could see me now, I hope they would be proud that the family business lives on.
